  1. went out for a 25 mile ride and finished up 51 miles…bonked!!! also fell over still clipped in the driveway talking to someone.

  2. When you broadside a moving car at 35MPH because you accidentally ran a stop sign. Broke my collar bone in the accident. Does that count?

  3. Don't own a car (wife does). Does my left ankle Frankenstein surgical scar from the repair of my detached Achilles Tendon count? Technically, it is not road rash, but the result of a nasty hyper-extension that popped the tendon, and I do mean popped as in "audible injury".

  4. You can call yourself a proper cyclist when it started raining and you just kept going, to the point where you got home soaking wet and with frozen fingers and toes…

  5. Given that my current car is worth about £400, and that my old Giant OCR-2 road bike would cost about £800 to replace as new, does that count?

  6. I would add to the you're not a real biker/ cyclist until you have come off. To be a real cyclist you have to get back on again.
This is from motorcycling, which I have done less of than cycling by a long way, but I remember somoen who illistrated this beautifully.
5 years riding motofbikes, no issues, 1 low speed drop resulting in nothing more than a few minor bruises he never rode again. He knew this hadn't been a bad fall but the 'what if' had taken such a hold he couldn't get back in the saddle. No amount of pointing out how good a rider he had been would ever change this.

  7. And in Holland and Denmark we are laughing.

And from now on when I crash, I will say " I missed the beanbag"

  8. I fail on many of the "proper cyclist" tests. My definition of a proper cyclist is someone who has ridden a bike in the rain when they had an alternative method of transport available, or when there was no need to be out of the house at all..

  9. I describe all my rides on Strava using my own special brand of unique humour that nobody else finds funny. At all.

  10. Last year I got into cycling at age 34 after years of only sporadic riding. On the way home on my fifth ride I completely bonked, and as a result I got dropped by my riding partner – who was almost twice my age, and who just about turned around a few km ahead to come back and look for me. Rite of passage? Yep… Badge of honour? Not really! (At least it was good motivation to get better).

Then 2 months later I bought my first drop-bar bike, which was worth many times the value of my previous car… although that didn't mean anything since I had scrapped the car due to rust and old age the year before (and got $200 for it).

  11. I decided to get the bike out after 2 years off it. I did a ride that I last did when i was 11 years old, so i guessed i could do it again. (I am now 74) I got to a junction , stopped for a car, put my left leg down. It was so weak I collapsed & fell into the road. I suddenly realised that both legs were shot & i had a job to get back on the bike. Had to find a high curb to allow me to put my leg over the saddle. Rides are much shorter now.

  12. For four years ,i had been Questioning if my wife loved me as i felt so unloved- so much that i occasionally asked if she Was having an affair, I felt she was really avoiding me, however i had a gut feeling that something wasn't right and began to question my own sanity and anxiety. our children wondered why she was going out so much and not spending time with me and with us as a family. Eventually i had to come online to search for a way to get into my wife's phone without her finding out and i came. Across a hacker who did a great job for me, i was able to get into her phone under 12 hours and i got access to all social media text messages and her phone Conversations live and Permanently. it was so Hard and hurt brutally that my wife was a cheating one and it really affected me. If you find yourself in a Situation Like this, i Suggest you contact via Gmail ([email protected]) Or WhatsApp On +18722250930…

  15. If you don't shave your legs in spring summer you are definitely not a proper cyclist ,plus come on lycra and hairy legs? It looks awful

  16. Falling off on ice. Forgetting your puncture repair kit and getting a flat exactly halfway out on a 20 mile loop. Replacing a BB30 bottom bracket. Buying kit that's a size too small so you diet until you fit into it properly. Staying with good diet so you stay in the kit. Wearing T shirts that tell everyone you cycle and they are unfit lazy good for nothings. 23mm tyres will always be faster because they look faster. You always say the bike you have is the best there will ever be for you but as soon as you visit your bike dealer in spring your pride and joy becomes obsolete and you cannot wait to change it.
