You sent me a faulty drive through "MWAVE AUSTRALIA" the "FireCuda 510" why should people believe the "FireCuda 520" is any better when the 510 performs at less then 1/3rd of the advertised iops (181 peak R&W IOPS with 600k advertised) it's useless for gaming vs a standard m.2 and for double the freaking price and your website says your CS is open from 10am to 7pm however after following the prompts of the robots on the phone it ends with "we are sorry but we are closed".

    Considering I have bought the "Barracuda 500gb sata ssd", the "Barracuda 1tb sata SSD", the BarraCuda 1TB m.2 gen 3 and now this honking Piece of garbage "FireCuda 510 m.2"
    i can accurately and confidently say to all prospective Seagate customers you MUST ACTIVELY AVOID ALL SEAGATE PRODUCT LINES APART FROM BARRACUDA, the "iron wolf" is a waste of money for what you get and so is the FireCuda line however the FireCuda line is BY FAR the WORST of them ALL because you don't even get the advertised performance you are MUCH better off with a Barracuda sata ssd then the "FireCuda m.2".

    Latency, Latency, Latency, this FireCuda 510 m.2 will incur a minimum of 20ms upward of 300ms+ when loading games, files or running benchmarks i even peaked at 4000ms when transferring a game from the "patriot viper VPN 100" to the "SeaGate FireCuda 510" the VPN100 never exceeded 10% usage (the VPN 100 is also my boot drive) yet the FireCuda 510 was constantly at 50%-100% usage WITH 4000ms latency (THAT IS WORSE THEN A HARD DRIVE FFS).

    both m.2's are 600k+ random R/W iops, both m.2's are 3450 GB/s read, both m.2's are using PHISON MEMORY CONTROLLERS.

    I Currently have an open ticket with the ACCC, so please act fast or ill just buy another "Patriot viper vpn 100" because at least i know ill get what i pay for and it actually runs at 600k iops both R&W and runs sequential at 3450 MB/s AS ADVIRTISED and it comes formatted OOB unlike SEAGATE products, however the vpn 100 is 70 dollars more but 1000% worth it in my experience.

    Currently have a pending ticket with the ACCC waiting on my report of my encounter's with both "SeaGate" and "Mwave", not even sure I want a replacement at this point I might just buy Patriot viper through Scorptec and spend an extra 70 dollars after i get my cash back as the companies "SeaGate" and "Mwave" have proven to be extremely slow, incompetent, dramatic and are always quick to blame something else rather then taking responsibility for their lack of testing or methodology.

    EDIT: after further extensive testing and passing what is referred to as a "burn in period" the issues regarding the "sequential read & write" and "random read & write" have been resolved HOWEVER there is still the much larger issue of 100ms – 4000ms minimum operating latency underload of any kind which renders this M.2 useless for gaming as that is the time you must wait between actions taken by said drive.. imagine moving you mouse to left in game on this drive when its at 4000ms, its basically unplayable and causes insane frame dips as the gpu must delay processing as it waits on the cpu to grap data from the drive or RAM which also grabs data from the drive.

  3. TL;DW: 520 is faster if you use it in a pci-e gen 4 compatible motherboard to maximize its capabilities. Unnecessary video.
