Sài Gòn này vẫn rất đẹp vì tao đã quen với những cái xấu This Saigon is still beautiful because I’m used to all that makes it ugly

Người lao động luẩn quẩn kiếp nghèo tự hỏi cuộc đời sẽ đi về đâu Manual labourers intertwine with poverty, wonder where life will take them

Lũ con nít mở miệng chửi thề đụ này đụ nọ ở trong từng câu When children opens their mouths they curse with each sentence

Giấy trắng với viết mực, kẻ chiến thắng không cần phí sức White paper with ink, the winners do not need to waste their energies

Sài Gòn này vẫn rất đẹp dù cho cuộc chiến này chưa chấm dứt (cho ly trà đá) This Saigon is still beautiful but this battle is still not over (give me an ice tea)

[i] Đường Binh translates as ‘Army Road’ but this is a term for progression in the military.
[ii] Hàng nguội literally means cool/chilled goods but is slang for weapons.
[iii] Wowy uses the American slang for police, this is interesting as this this will circumvent the censorship board, as this will be something they will not pick up on. It also adds another element that it rhymes with the word above and below it phố / popo / vô.
[iv] Đại ca translates as boss on Google, but more accurately would be big brother, as đại means, big, great, or large, and ca is another preposition for brother. This does not necessarily mean they are siblings.
[v] A search on wikipedia shows lô cốt as these block houses, which is a small fortification (https://vi.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%B4_c%E1%BB%91t). However a search on google images shows lô cốt as various enclosures such as bunkers, but also corrugated metal partitions that enclose building sites (if you find the correct or a shorter term, please comment!) I would assume it is the latter because of the sheer amount of construction work that is always going on in Hồ Chí Minh city.
[vi] Tax in this instance could be a nod at corruption.
